Victoria School Foundation for the Arts
To dream the possible dream... that’s the Foundation’s vision for all talented Vic students. To achieve this end the Victoria School Foundation for the Arts was launched with a million dollar dream to ensure that no student is denied the opportunity to achieve his or her artistic dreams. The Foundation now has a $1.2 million fund endowed with the Edmonton Community Foundation. As of 2008, 131 scholarships have been awarded totaling $283,500 to Vic grads. In 2008 alone, $59,000 was given to deserving students. Awards ranged from $500 for summer programs to $5000 for university tuition for post secondary study in the performing or visual arts. As well the Foundation funds the “Dreams Alive” master classes each year which benefit over 250 students. Students are selected to work with artists who come from as far away as England and Florida. The Foundation certainly understands the value of a dollar and is making stars of its donors! Donor recognition takes many forms, including named scholarships, named facilities, and named programs. All contributions to this foundation are administered through the Edmonton Community Foundation, and qualify for income tax credits.
